LAURYN HILL PLEADS FOR PARDON AFTER BEING FOUND GUILTY FOR TAX EVASION

 Popular Music Star Lauryn Hill has pleaded guilty to tax evasion and she faces prison time. Read more after the cut.

The music star has alleged that threats to her family were the reasons she evaded tax. She has asked for leniency at her upcoming sentence. This was what she said "i withdrew from society at large due to what i perceived as manipulation and very real threats to myself and my family."

She defaulted for a period of 3years (2005-2007) and she will be facing a year in prison for each of these three years. She will be sentenced in the US district court in Newark.

She argued that if granted pardon it will make it easier to pay her tax bill.

Lauryn is an American grammy award winning artiste who first came into the limelite when she became part of the FUGEES hip hop trio. Her first solo album was released in 1998 titled " The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill"
