CLASH BETWEEN THE AGULERI'S IN ANAMBRA AND ASHONWO IN KOGI

There has been chaos between the people of Enugu-Otu Aguleri in Anambra State and Ashonwo Odeke in Ibaji Local government Area of Kogi State, it led to a bloody clash which left 7 people dead and about 52 houses burnt, this clash was over a dispute for land in their oil-rich border.

I hear the people of Kogi State claim that the oil wells in Aguleri belonged to them just after the commissioning of the Orient Petroleum Refinery last year by President Goodluck Jonathan.

A source from Aguleri said that; 'we were sleeping when suddenly we started hearing gunshots everywhere and when some of us came out to know what was happening, we saw our houses on fire. Three men were also kidnapped.
When the Anambra state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Emeka Chukwuemeka was contacted he declared that he had received the news informally and that the details are yet to reach him.
