The Consulate reported the case to Police authorities that the couple applied for American Visas and were denied of the visas on suspicion that the babies they claimed were theirs might have been stolen. They therefore ordered that a DNA test be carried out on the babies and the result showed that there were no genetic traits of the parents in the babies.
Soyibo and his wife allegedly bought the babies for 1.8million naira from a woman in Rivers State, the woman is yet to be traced by the police authorities. Investigation process took detectives to Rivers State where Mrs Elizabeth claimed to have had her baby but on getting there the woman claimed she could no longer identify the place, she also stated that she had no antenatal record anywhere as she did not attend any.
